Venice Beach
About Venice Beach
Venice Beach is more than just another beautiful place to soak up the famous California sun. Along with the white sand and lapping Pacific you'd expect, Venice Beach is also host to a unique mix of people, vendors, and out of the ordinary performances. Strolling along the Venice boardwalk, you'll find yourself drawn to (or away from) impromptu chainsaw juggling acts, comedic acts, magic shows, and other performances. Venice culture is known for its funk and open-mindedness, and these characteristics make Venice a great place for people watching and to truly experience the unexpected. Art in Venice is eclectic and original. Look for incredible sand sculptures, amazing murals, and the more tucked away studios where you're bound to find a piece or two you can't live without. The active California lifestyle is evident here, as well. Rollerbladers, skateboarders, cyclists, and runners are common on the boardwalk. Additionally, the famous Muscle Beach is located here. Venice Beach is located only fifteen minutes from Los Angeles and offers mild to warm temperatures during the day and cooler temperatures during evening hours. Weekends bring crowds to the area, so be prepared to pay for prime parking, or wear comfortable shoes for the trek from car to beach and back.
